Chainlink (LINK) price analysis — daily chart

Chainlink (LINK) is at 11.28 on the 1D chart. LINK is in a range. There is no run of higher or lower swings to call a trend; price is boxed between 11.22 and 11.85.

No clean trend, at support — inverted gap capping price

Where LINK is

A range — no side in control.

LINK is in a range. There is no run of higher or lower swings to call a trend; price is boxed between 11.22 and 11.85.

The weekly picture: a recovery off the cycle low, 79% under the all-time high; on the daily, price is above the 200-day (10.03), and the 50-day is above the 200-day. The daily has no trend of its own.

Price is testing a fair-value gap at 11.45–12.21 from the other side. The gap was left by a rally, then price closed straight through it — an inversion: the gap is now above price instead of below it. A close back above 12.21 means the inversion failed.

On the daily chart, LINK fell 35% to 10.26, then bounced to 11.94, and has since given back about a third of that bounce. It is now trading in an 11.22–11.85 box, pressing on the floor. The 11.22 floor has caught price 5 times, counting all 2 timeframes.

The daily structure is widening — a higher high and a lower low, swings in both directions. It now spans the 15.77 high to the 10.26 low — each push goes further than the last, so neither side is in control until one of them gives way. Price is pressing the 11.65 resistance, which has turned it back 4 times — and was swept and rejected; it was support before it flipped. Price is just below the 0.5 retracement of the last up-move, at 11.38 — the pullback has already gone through it. Volume is building under the move.

Who's behind the move

Neither side is in control.

Inside the box the evidence is split. On the buyers' side: A bullish divergence on OBV: price set a lower low that momentum did not match, so the selling is losing force. Price is above the average price paid since the swing low (anchored VWAP 10.99), so the buyers since that low are in profit. Volume flow backs it — more volume has traded on up candles than down (CMF +0.10, OBV rising).

On the sellers' side: ADX is 27, a real trend, with sellers ahead (+DI 16, −DI 26). MACD is below its signal line, so the latest swing has downward momentum of its own. That split is what a range is: neither side has the evidence to take price out of it.

Everything else on the chart: Volume is not confirming the move (on-balance volume is diverging from price). Even those who bought at the last top are back in profit (average since the swing high 10.74). RSI is 43, neutral — neither side's closes dominate. Volatility is coiled — a TTM squeeze (Bollinger Bands inside the Keltner Channels) has run 2 candles, with momentum inside it pointing down.

Price sits at the bottom edge of its 100-candle regression channel — as far from its own average path as it gets. The averages are split: price is above the 200 EMA (the 20 under the 50), but under the Ichimoku cloud.

Volume is 1.5× normal.

A high-volume price that price has not revisited (a naked POC) sits below at 8.31; and another above at 12.63; value is migrating up (+15.2%) — the prices where most volume trades are moving higher; price is spending time inside value — the market is accepting these prices.

The levels on the chart

11.85 is the line it has to clear.

11.85 is the ceiling; price has not tested it on this chart yet.

11.65, a resistance 3.3% above price: sellers turned price there on 6 of 9 visits; it lines up with the monthly open.

11.54, a swing high 2.3% above price: sellers turned price there on 5 of 6 visits; it lines up with the 0.5 retracement of the chart's whole range.

The long-term lines: the 200-day average at 10.03 (−11.0%), the 50-day average at 12.63 (+12.0%), the yearly open at 12.21 (+8.2%), the quarterly open at 14.37 (+27.4%) and last year's range 8.000–27.86.

11.35, a 0.618 retracement 0.6% above price: sellers turned price there on 3 of 5 visits; it lines up with the 0.5 retracement of the chart's whole range.

The last swing high at 12.02, not yet taken — the kind of spot where stop orders usually sit just above.

The last swing low at 8.056, not yet taken — stops sit just below.

12.06 is the level on the most timeframes — 3 timeframes (1D/4H/1H), 3 touches.

Measured on the last drop from 15.77 to 10.26, price has given back 18% of it — a shallow bounce. The golden pocket, 13.67–13.84, is where the 0.618 retracement of that drop sits. Its extensions mark 8.755 (1.272) and 6.846 (1.618) below.

7.002 is where two separate tools meet: the 1.618 Fibonacci level of the last swing and a support.

9.296–9.545 is a fresh demand zone: price paused there in the middle of a rally, then kept rising (3.7 average candles in one move); price has not been back since.

The nearest round numbers: 12.50 above and 10.00 below.

What to watch

A 1D close past 11.85 or 11.22 changes the picture.

A 1D close above 11.85 breaks the range's ceiling; no tested level above it on this chart.

A 1D close below 11.23 breaks the range's floor; no tested level below it on this chart.

How to use it

Watch for this: a 1D close back above 12.21 means the inversion failed.

Since the last read: the range from 3 days ago is still holding — unchanged.
