Uptrend, pulling back — trendline break failed
A pullback inside an uptrend.
XMR is in a pullback inside an uptrend. The structure is still up: higher highs and higher lows, and the last higher low at 513.2 is intact — while it holds, the pullback is a pullback inside the trend.
The weekly picture: a weekly uptrend, 24% under the all-time high; on the daily, price is above the 200-day (425.7), and the 50-day is above the 200-day. The daily trend runs with the weekly.
Price broke below a 4-touch support trendline and came straight back — a failed break. It does not stand alone: the round number 600.1 and the 0.382 fib of the last swing sit at the same price.
XMR fell 19% to 513.2 on the daily chart, then won it all back, climbing 29% to 661.8, taking out the 637.1 high on the way, and has since given back about half of that bounce. It is now pinned in a tight 584.5–611.8 band, pressing on the ceiling.
The daily structure is a clean uptrend — higher highs and higher lows. The rise has not pulled back enough to set a new higher low — the last one is far below, at 513.2.
Nothing in the pullback says the buying has changed character. ADX is 30, a real trend, with buyers ahead (+DI 23, −DI 10). Price is above the average price paid since the swing low (anchored VWAP 416.8), so the buyers since that low are in profit. Price is above every average that matters: the Ichimoku cloud and the 200 EMA (the 20 above the 50).
What doesn't fit: MACD is below its signal line, so the latest swing has downward momentum of its own. Together, that is why price is pulling back instead of rising.
The rest of the chart points the same way. Even those who bought at the last top are back in profit (average since the swing high 446.3). RSI is 56, neutral — neither side's closes dominate. Volume flow is flat (CMF +0.05) — volume is not taking a side. Volatility is coiled — a TTM squeeze (Bollinger Bands inside the Keltner Channels) has run 3 candles, with momentum inside it pointing up.
Volume is 0.6× normal; volume is fading — fewer traders are taking part.
A high-volume price that price has not revisited (a naked POC) sits below at 546.41; value is migrating up (+33.3%) — the prices where most volume trades are moving higher; price is moving through value quickly — the market is not accepting these prices.
584.5 is the line it stands on.
584.5 is where buyers keep showing up: it held 3 of 5 visits. It is also the 0.236 retracement of the chart's whole range and the 20 EMA.
625.0, a swing high 2.6% above price: sellers turned price there on 4 of 5 visits.
619.6, the 2-TF resistance 1.7% above price: sellers turned price there on 3 of 5 visits.
The long-term lines: the 200-day average at 425.7 (−30.1%), the 50-day average at 562.5 (−7.6%), the yearly open at 434.3 (−28.7%), the quarterly open at 545.1 (−10.5%) and last year's range 183.4–499.5.
611.8, the 2-TF resistance 0.4% above price: it gave way on 2 of 3 visits; it lines up with the weekly open.
The last swing high at 651.9, not yet taken — the kind of spot where stop orders usually sit just above.
The last swing low at 564.1, not yet taken — stops sit just below.
584.5 is the level on the most timeframes — 2 timeframes (4H/1H), 5 touches.
Measured on the running rally from 513.2 to 661.8, price has given back 36% of it — a shallow pullback. The golden pocket, 565.2–570.0, is where the 0.618 retracement of that rally sits. Its extensions mark 702.2 (1.272) and 753.6 (1.618) above.
Measured against the impulse before it (637.1 → 513.2), this pullback has retraced 77%; that leg's golden pocket is 589.8–593.8.
637.1 is where two separate tools meet: the 0.236 Fibonacci level of the last swing and a resistance.
292.1–315.3 is a demand zone: price fell into it, paused, then rallied hard (2 average candles in one move); it has been tested 16× since.
The nearest round numbers: 700.0 above and 600.0 below.
Triple bottom — still forming, measured move 766.8.
A 1D close past 611.8 or 584.5 changes the picture.
Uptrend — higher highs and higher lows; it holds while price stays above 513.2.
A 1D close above 611.4 clears the ceiling inside an uptrend — a new high in the trend's direction; no tested level above it on this chart.
A 1D close below 584.5 breaks the box's floor, though the uptrend's last higher low still sits below; no tested level below it on this chart.
Watch 611.8: price staying above the line keeps the failed break in play; a 1D close back through it would revive the break.
Since the last read: still in an uptrend, unchanged over the last 3 days.
