Bitcoin (BTC) price analysis — daily chart

Bitcoin (BTC) is at 78,156 on the 1D chart. BTC is in a range. There is no run of higher or lower swings to call a trend, and ADX is 21 — under the 25 where a trend is real; price is boxed between 76,368 and 79,679.

No clean trend, mid-range — stops run and structure flipped down

Where BTC is

A range — no side in control.

BTC is in a range. There is no run of higher or lower swings to call a trend, and ADX is 21 — under the 25 where a trend is real; price is boxed between 76,368 and 79,679.

The weekly picture: a recovery off the cycle low, 38% under the all-time high; on the daily, price is above the 200-day (73,197), and the 50-day is above the 200-day. The daily has no trend of its own.

Price took out the 84,362 high — running the stops over it — snapped straight back, and then closed below the 79,679 higher low. That is a liquidity grab followed by a shift in structure: the buyers who chased the break are now on the wrong side of it. A close back over 84,362 undoes it. It does not stand alone: the round number 80,000 and the 50 EMA sit at the same price.

BTC has given back most of its last rally on the daily chart. It rose 17% to 87,399, then pulled back to 76,265. It is now pinned in a tight 76,368–79,679 band. The 76,368 floor has caught price 4 times, counting all 2 timeframes.

The daily structure is widening — a higher high and a lower low, swings in both directions. It now spans the 87,399 high to the 74,977 low — each push goes further than the last, so neither side is in control until one of them gives way. Price is inside a bullish order block at 74,977–78,262 — the last place buyers stepped in with size, and this is the first time price has come back to it. Beyond the box, the next tested levels are 80,582 above and 74,977 below. An imbalance (fair value gap) sits above at 78,802–80,397 — a stretch price ran through one way, with little trade back and forth. Volume is building under the move.

Who's behind the move

Inside the box the evidence is split. On the buyers' side: Price is above the average price paid since the swing low (anchored VWAP 73,824), so the buyers since that low are in profit. Volume is not confirming the move (on-balance volume is diverging from price). Even those who bought at the last top are back in profit (average since the swing high 75,501).

On the sellers' side: Hidden bearish divergence on MACD: the bounce lifted momentum past its last high without lifting price there — effort without result. RSI is 40: sellers have had the stronger closes. MACD is below its signal line, so the latest swing has downward momentum of its own. That split is what a range is: neither side has the evidence to take price out of it.

The trend is weak — ADX 21, under the 25 where a trend is real, with sellers only slightly ahead (−DI 28, +DI 16) — this is a box, not a trend.

Everything else on the chart: Price is above the 200 EMA, with the 20 EMA above the 50. Volume flow is flat (CMF -0.01, OBV falling) — volume is not taking a side. The squeeze released 3 candles ago, down — volatility is expanding again. Price sits at the bottom edge of its 100-candle regression channel — as far from its own average path as it gets.

In futures, funding is positive — longs are paying to hold (neutral); price up on falling OI — short covering, rally lacks fresh demand.

Liquidations are stacked: long liquidations below near 71,125 ($5375M); short liquidations above near 85,193 ($4911M).

A high-volume price that price has not revisited (a naked POC) sits below at 64,070; and another above at 84,039; value is migrating up (+11.1%) — the prices where most volume trades are moving higher; price is spending time inside value — the market is accepting these prices.

The levels on the chart

76,368 below and 79,679 above decide it.

76,368 is where buyers keep showing up: it held 9 of 12 visits, on 1.8× the usual volume, and the turns there ran 6.8% within 5 candles. It is also the 0.382 retracement of the chart's whole range and the prior week low.

79,679 is where sellers keep showing up: it held 10 of 14 visits.

79,118, a fib retracement 1.2% above price: sellers turned price there on 6 of 12 visits.

The long-term lines: the 200-day average at 73,197 (−6.3%), the 50-day average at 81,995 (+4.9%), the yearly open at 87,639 (+12.1%), the quarterly open at 83,618 (+7.0%) and last year's range 74,502–126,200.

78,342, a resistance 0.2% above price: it gave way on 6 of 11 visits, on 2.0× the usual volume; it lines up with the weekly open.

77,481, the prior day low 0.9% below price: it gave way on 4 of 7 visits, on 2.5× the usual volume; it lines up with the monthly open.

The last swing high at 81,995, not yet taken — the kind of spot where stop orders usually sit just above.

2 equal highs at 87,319, not yet taken — stops sit just above.

81,995 is the level on the most timeframes — 3 timeframes (1D/4H/1H), 3 touches; resting liquidity and the 0.618 golden pocket sit at the same price.

Measured on the running drop from 87,399 to 76,368, price has given back 17% of it — a shallow bounce. The golden pocket, 83,052–83,502, is where the 0.618 retracement of that drop sits. Its extensions mark 73,237 (1.272) and 69,385 (1.618) below.

Measured against the impulse before it (74,977 → 87,399), this pullback has retraced 74%; that leg's golden pocket is 79,311–79,679.

80,270 is where two separate tools meet: the 0.382 Fibonacci level of the last swing and a resistance.

76,011–76,368 is a demand zone: price fell into it, paused, then rallied hard (2.5 average candles in one move); it has been tested 1× since.

A bullish breaker block at 73,185–74,140: an old order block that price has since broken through.

The nearest round numbers: 80,000 above and 75,000 below.

What to watch

A 1D close past 79,679 or 76,609 changes the picture.

A 1D close above 79,791 breaks the range's ceiling; the next level up is 81,601.

A 1D close below 76,609 breaks the range's floor; the next level down is 74,950.

How to use it

Watch for this: a 1D close back over 84,362 undoes it.

The common misread: reading moves in the middle of the box as signals — the read only changes at 76,368 or 79,679.

Since the last read: the range from earlier today is still holding — unchanged.
